STEP 1: ADD WAVES + SHINE

Use a few droplets of a shine serum, or an oil treatment that not only protects your hair from heat, but also allows you to build non-frizzy curl. Add waves to your hair using a 1 1/2-inch barrel curling iron, then run another small droplet of the oil treatment throughout your strands to smooth and lock in your style. Pro Tip: Use a light hand and spread the serum equally throughout your strands after you’ve warmed up the liquid with your fingertips. Remember, less is more here!

STEP 2: CREATE YOUR FIRST BRAID

Part the front section of your hair to one side. Then, from the un-parted side, take about two inches of hair and create a French braid. Remember to keep your part defined and your braiding crisp and clean — the two key styling aspects of this look.

Once your braid is complete, hold it in place with a horizontally placed hairpin as shown above.

STEP 3: REPEAT + SMOOTH

Create another braid on the opposite side, then hold your braid in place with a pin when finished. Next, add smoothness and a modern touch to Old Hollywood waves by brushing your hair from scalp to tips with a soft boar bristle brush. This styling technique will add sheen and luster to your hair as you brush away the frizz, distributing your hair’s natural oils and activating the shine serum you put in earlier.

STEP 4: CONNECT BRAIDS

Now, connect both braids at the back of your head using your two bobby pins. Camouflage the hairpins by placing them vertically, wavy side down. Weave the braids together so the look mimics one seamless infinity braid.

STEP 5: SPRAY, SMOOTH + SET

Lastly, set your hair with a smoothing finishing spray to lock in all that shine and glamour!
